Finalists in the Australian Trades Small Business Champion Awards
We’re proud to share that Shoreline Locksmiths has been named a finalist in the Australian Trades Small Business Champion Awards.
We are the only Queensland locksmith business to reach the finals and one of just two locksmith businesses Australia-wide recognised in this year’s national awards program.
For a small, family-run locksmith business on the Gold Coast, being recognised on a national stage is a significant milestone and something we’re really proud of. It reinforces what we’ve always believed: consistency, reputation, and good old-fashioned customer service matter just as much as size.
It proves that biggest isn’t always ‘best’.
Standing out in the tradie industry
The Australian Trades Small Business Champion Awards recognise businesses that demonstrate excellence, leadership, and consistency across Australia’s trade sector.
Being named a finalist in the Trade Services category means we are being assessed alongside a broad range of service-based trade businesses, all judged on how they operate, how they serve customers, and how they perform as a business.
Although highly specialised, locksmithing is a trade that often sits quietly in the background until it’s urgently needed. In sensitive residential and commercial situations, people need more than someone who can simply get the job done. They need the combination of skill, technical expertise, trust, and reputation that gives them confidence the problem will be resolved properly.
Beyond restoring access or repairing locks, our role is often to restore peace of mind and a sense of security when people need it most. That’s what makes being one of only two locksmith business in the the finals, something we’re especially proud of.
Humble beginnings
Shoreline Security Pty Ltd, trading as Shoreline Locksmiths, started as a sole trader business built by Jamieson, who initially grew the business while balancing work at Bunnings, home renovations and the arrival of his first child.
From those early days, the core of our approach has remained the same: turn up when we say we will, communicate clearly, and do the job properly the first time. No shortcuts, no overpromising, and no unnecessary complexity.
We’ve chosen to grow deliberately rather than quickly, so we can stay close to the work and maintain full accountability on every job. As a family-run business, every job, decision, and customer interaction sits directly with us.
Community and industry contribution
Beyond the day-to-day work, we also aim to contribute back to both our local community and the wider locksmithing trade.
This includes supporting local initiatives where we can, while also taking an active interest in strengthening and promoting the locksmithing industry, particularly in encouraging awareness and future pathways into the trade.
For us, it’s about helping ensure the industry continues to grow in a positive and sustainable way, while giving back to the community that supports both our business and our family.
Thank you
We’re genuinely grateful to all our residential, commercial, and automotive customers, as well as the local property managers, body corporates, and fellow small businesses we work alongside on the Gold Coast.
Every job, referral, social media interaction, Facebook group mention, and genuine customer review has played a role in getting us here.
We’ll keep showing up when you need us most and continue building a Gold Coast locksmith business our community can rely on.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Sydney on 27 June.
